Construction for the outdoor community gathering area and indoor portion of the drive-up service window is beginning the week of September 27th. Please come back for updates and pictures as we move through the project.
About the Projects
At the beginning of 2019, the library board approved a new strategic plan that focused on evolving the library building to best support the needs of the community. This initiative kicked off with updates to our café area; providing new seating options, access to vending machines, and a convenient space for mobile users to access wireless internet. With that project well behind us, we are excited to begin work on these new additions:
- Outdoor community gathering area will provide a convenient space for outdoor group meetings and a dedicated space for outdoor programming – including storytimes.
- Drive-up service window will allow for easy pick-up and/or return of items via a new access drive off Garfield Road. This will replace the existing book drop that is sometimes difficult to navigate to within our parking lot.
- Automated Materials Handling System will create a more efficient library that checks in materials as soon as they are placed in the return bin and prioritizes the processing of items that have holds on them.
