We’re bursting with excitement for Summer Reading 2024 and can’t wait to share the incredible journey we have planned for you!

 

Adult Summer Reading 2024

Adult Summer Reading will begin on Thursday, June 20. Participants can pick up a program packet at the adult reference desk. Readers can submit an entry form for each book (ebooks and audiobooks count too) that they complete between June 20 and August 24. There will be weekly prize drawings for a $20 Amazon gift card and one grand prize drawing at the end of the summer for helicopter flight over the Detroit Ambassador Bridge.

Book/ Audiobook reviews can be submitted online or in-person at the adult reference desk.

 

Youth and Teen Summer Reading 2024

Make this a summer to remember by participating in the RTDL Summer Reading Program! This summer will be filled with exciting events, programs, and prizes! Pick up a packet at the Reference Desk beginning June 20th.

How does it work?

    • Read for 15 minutes.
    • Color in one circle for each 15 minutes of reading.
    • Come to the library when you have 20 circles colored in to receive a prize! Prizes include:
        • A ticket for our GRAND PRIZE drawing OR
        • A book OR
        • A gift certificate for an ice cream cone

*If you choose a ticket for the drawing, fill out your ticket with your name and phone number,

make sure it is easy to read so we can call you if your name is drawn.

Summer Food Program

Once again, the library will be hosting the Free Summer Food Program. Free lunch for children 18 years of age and under. M-F from 12:30-1:30. The program starts on June 20th, and end on August 2nd (no service on 7/4). Learn more here.

Grand Celebration

Join us on Saturday, August 24th from 12-3 PM to celebrate the completion of recent library renovations and 20 years of serving the community at our 6 Mile Rd. location! We will have onsite food trucks, ice cream, live music, face painting, balloon artists, and more.
