Summer Food Service Program

Once again, the library will be hosting the Free Summer Food Program. Free lunch for children 18 years of age and under.

The Summer Food Program will start on June 15th, and end on August 7th.

When: Monday – Friday from 12:30-1:30 PM (no service on 6/19, 7/3 and 7/6).

Where: The Redford Township District Library – Youth Space (2nd Floor)

What: RTDL will host Meet Up & Eat Up again this year! For other locations near you call 2-1-1 or text “food” to 877-877.

Adult Summer Reading 2026

Adult Summer Reading will begin on Saturday, June 13. Participants can pick up a program packet at the welcome desk. Readers can submit an entry form for each book (ebooks and audiobooks count too) that they complete between June 13 and August 15. Participants will be entered into weekly prize drawings for a $25 Amazon gift card, along with a grand prize drawing at the end of the summer featuring a $50 Amazon gift card and a LEGO Natural History Museum set.

Book/ Audiobook reviews can be submitted online or in-person at the adult reference desk.

 

Teen Summer Reading 2026

Teen Summer Reading will begin on Saturday, June 13. Pick up your program packet at the Welcome Desk to get started. Complete fun challenges and read for just 15 minutes day to earn awesome prizes!

 

Youth Summer Reading 2026

Make this a summer to remember by participating in the RTDL Summer Reading Program! This summer will be filled with exciting events, programs, and prizes! Pick up a packet at the youth desk beginning June 13. The Kona Ice truck will be here from 12-2 PM.

How does it work?

  • For every 15 minutes you read, color in a circle. Once you have 20 circles colored in, come back to the library for your choice of a book, ice cream coupon, or raffle ticket for a prize.
  • Fill out any of the summer challenges on the back of the paper. For every 100 points earned, you may claim one of the prizes listed above.

 

Summer Party

Saturday, August 1 from 12-3 PM

Enjoy free ice cream, live music, a giant coloring wall, and delicious eats from The Burger Spot food truck. Plus, grab some free library swag while you’re here!

Fun for all ages. Come celebrate summer with us!

The library is now offering a homebound delivery service for patrons who cannot come to the library, because of mobility, health, or disability barriers. Print (regular and large print), Audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs are available and deliveries will be made once per month. Patrons must reside in Redford Township to receive this service.

Drive-up Service Window

The service window provides easy access to pick up your materials on hold and book drop allows you to return any items that you may have.

The drive-thru service window and book return is located off of Garfield Rd.

Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Friday & Saturday 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Sunday 12:00 – 4:00 PM (Labor Day – Memorial Day)
